Our First Married Easter

H.E.L.L.O  F.R.I.E.N.D.S

I hope your Easter weekend was wonderful and relaxing! The sun was shining bright every day, making it one beautiful weekend! Barrett and I stayed at the beach house Friday and Saturday night with my family. It felt great to have a Saturday off and relax. Friday afternoon I left work early and went home to a brown box sitting by my front door! I was so excited to see what it was! I ripped it open to find Mrs. Meyers cleaning goodies from my sweet Aunt KBL!  I started cleaning right away! The sweet Lemon Verbena scent truly made my heart sing! My whole house smelled gloriously clean, even hubby commented when we got back on Sunday how great the house smelled! ;) Aunt K- Thank you so much for my Easter treats!

On Saturday, we went out cruising on the boat, so I was able to really enjoy the the Florida sunshine! It was so wonderful to be there with my entire family. Barrett and I even played a little game of "I Spy" on our way back to the house. We are dorks, I know...but it was fun! Saturday night we fried up some fresh Mahi Mahi and mom made her scrumptious grits! Dinner was so good, but I ate way too much!

Beautiful view of the Gulf from the house

Sunday we all woke and walked down to the beach for the Easter Sunrise Service at 7 am. That was the first time I had ever been to a Sunrise Service, and it was beautiful watching the sun come up as the preacher preached. It really made me think about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and how awesome He is that He actually made the sun that rises and sets every single day! AMAZING!

After the service, mom and I made breakfast. Mom and dad also surprised us all with Easter baskets! Barrett and I received some Peterbrooke Chocolate (oh so good!) and a new birdhouse/ feeder for our yard! So cute! I can't wait to put it out and watch all the sweet birds indulge! We relaxed, ate Easter lunch, and then headed back to town. All the food was so wonderful, but I ate WAY TOO MUCH!

After getting back in town we went to eat Easter dinner with his parents. Yes, MORE YUMMY FOOD! We had about a 6 hour break from eating, so we were ready to go again! Dinner was fabulous, but my gosh was I full! They also had a big basket full of MORE Peterbrooke goodies, gift cards, and cute decorative accessories for our abode!

On top of all the goodies we received, Barrett and I also made each other baskets filled with more candy! Seriously, we have so many goodies we could fill a candy store! I love the basket Barrett got for me! It's trimmed with pink fur... lol! All in all, we had the most wonderful first Easter together! I look forward to many more fun filled Easters to come! Hopefully one day with little ones running around hunting for eggs! ;)

Thank you to our family for making our first married Easter so memorable and special! We are so blessed to have such a loving family that truly cares for us unconditionally!

GOING GREEN

As I posted on St. Patty's day, I love the color green! Green, which is nature's color, is soothing and cheerful. When decorating with greens, you can mix with so many other colors too. I particularly love greens and blues, and greens and pinks when mixed together! There are so many great shades of green, the possibilities are endless! Have a beautiful and blessed Easter!

Ahhh... Dreamy Easter Tables

I LOVE EASTER!
Mostly because Jesus Christ's victory over death and knowing that His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him... but I also love it because of time that is spent with loved ones celebrating this glorious holiday around the dinner table over great food! These place settings and Easter tablescapes are just beautiful! I want to sit down at a table like one of these please...

BLISS
I dream of tulips like this...

Pretty porcelain...

Luscious peonies and ruffle plates...

Love the thought of cute lil' chickadees watching me eat...

and choclaty treats...

So beautiful!

Fun and casual setting...

Even polka dot paper plates are so cute!

Spring Cleaning... How I love thee!

Today's post is from my Aunt KBL. She is so inspiring, and when she says that she loves cleaning, she REALLY does! Enjoy!

"Ah, Spring cleaning...How I love thee, let me count the ways... Not everybody loves to clean. But I believe that Spring Cleaning is a must. While there are so many products out there today to make life simpler, I believe we have no excuse not to. I love to approach Spring Cleaning in a non-conventional way. I use this time to actually take stock in each room and look at it NOT as a boring job, but as something that will be quite satisfying. I may use an old fashion method or even a great smelling one that is offered by Mrs. Meyers or Caldrea. They will actually make your heart sing while you are cleaning! FIRST...I put on some 40's music (my preference) and take a room and while I clean I will rearrange and re-purpose! I may even take a jaunt to my favorite antique place, home improvement store or wherever to refresh a room. You will be surprised at how your mood will change when you have completed a room. And, you will be able to look out your windows to see a gorgeous Spring coming!

Welcome a beautiful Spring with fresh and clean rooms!

Favorite Products: Swiffers, Baking Soda, Scotch Brite Dusting Cloths (that you can use, wash and reuse!), Mrs. Meyers Scouring Surface Powder, Surface cleaner by Caldrea or Mrs. Meyers. I also love the wipes that are made by them... EASY Cleaning... But cleaning all the same!" - KBL

Not your grandmother's tray... Or maybe...

Silver trays, whether old or new, sparkling or tarnished, simple or fancy, can be added to any style decor and be used all year round. I love silver in all shapes and forms and I probably inherited that from my Aunt KBL. She inspired this post and almost every silver antique piece I came across I thought of her!

Silver trays are so versatile... Even the old vintage, scratched and blackened ones. Not only can trays be used for serving purposes, you can use them on the wall, in groups or not... in a bathroom holding beautiful paper hand towels or soaps... in the kitchen just holding a bottle of lotion, hand soap, and even dish soap... You can even use them as a backdrop in a bookcase or on a shelf! There are so many uses!

I used a gorgeous, large antique silver tray that my parents found years back at an antique store up in the mountains to display my wedding cake! It was perfect! Funny, but sad story... it was another couple's at their wedding and even had their initials engraved on it...they ended up divorcing so the wife sold it to the antique shop! It ended up displaying my cake beautifully! (click picture to enlarge)
